Best bits…. Always such a wonderful blog post to write and share. I am a self confessed lover of all things nostalgic (does a year ago count? I think so!) and reminiscing in general – so this is right up my street.
Last year has both flashed before my eyes and at the same time, been so jammed packed full of wonderful memories, that it seemed to stretch forever… The arrival of a certain little Finley Williams in late 2016 has certainly changed our lives in ways we never imagined possible and this first year has been one I will treasure.
It has also marked the start of my journey as a working mum! I’ve certainly learnt a lot – including how to make the most of every precious second of nap times!! 2017 was my busiest year yet with so many wonderful weddings, new arrivals and family sessions. I have been blessed to witness and capture an incredible array of emotion bursting moments and loved every second!
A want to say a HUGE thank you to all my wonderful clients who have made this year extra special and wish you all a fantastic 2018!
Wedding & Portrait Photography – Liverpool, Cheshire and Lancashire
This has to be my favourite blog post of the year! Yet again I have the absolute pleasure of re-living all the wonderful memories, moments and total joy from the year just gone. The only hardship of this job is the terrible trial of having to choose a sensible number to share! I have finally managed to whittle it down!
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the incredible couples and families who I have had the absolute honour to get to know and all wonderful moments I have had the privilege to share and capture – what a job I have!
And finally I ended my year with the most special arrival ever… our little boy Finley Robert Williams! He gets the honour of kicking off this years highlights….
When Colin and Karen suggested Southport for their pre-wedding shoot I was just a little bit excited! I knew it would provide so many exciting opportunities for unique and eye catching images and it did not disappoint! We decided to aim for a dusk shoot as this meant there were slightly less people and of course that beautifully soft evening light. We had such fun in the arcade section, where I just couldn’t get enough of all that amazing bright colour and then onto the famous Southport Pier! Now the light had really faded we were blessed with stunning atmospheric skies – so romantic…! Thank you Colin and Karen for a fantastic evening- I can’t wait for the big day next year!
Having a pre-wedding shoot is such a great idea to help you relax in front of the camera and also a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know each other more before the big day. I have lots of tricks to help you relax and encourage those all important relaxed and natural moments. The best part is that when you book a wedding package the pre- wedding shoot comes at a big discount, so all the more reason to go for it!

I met baby Ralph at 6 weeks old and it was just the perfect time to be able to do some newborn photography at home. It was a really hot summer day and I had the privilege of being able to capture Ralph getting a little cool off in the sink- great plan mummy! What a fantastic head of hair and those beautiful big eyes were just amazing to photograph too. Being in the home meant we could take a really relaxed and natural series of photographs – total pleasure. Wishing Charlotte and Tom huge congratulations on the birth on this perfect little bundle.

I absolutely love this super relaxed newborn photography session, so many smiles and beautiful real mummy and baby moments. Little Megan was very well behaved and decided to have a big sleep half way through. I have to admit I do love capturing those really cute sleepy poses and little pouts! Megan didn’t disappoint and made the sweetest faces throughout. It is such a complete privilege to be able to capture such amazingly special moments in a families life. Massive congratulations to Sarah and Jordi!
So pleased to finally be sharing more from this really natural new born photography shoot with the very handsome Joseph. At nearly 4 weeks early little Joseph was still pretty tiny with the cutest miniature features. He was good as gold and even managed a little smile at his dad! (I’m totally ignoring the high chance it was wind!!) My newborn shoots are always really relaxed and a little longer than my average portraiture sessions which allows lots of time for cuddles, changes and feeds. I also love to use natural light where possible as I find it creates the most natural images. This often simply means taking the photos near a window, nice and simple with no need for lots of bright lights flashing in baby’s face. Thank you Sally and John for a wonderfully relaxed sessions and a huge congratulations!
So as promised, today’s blog is part two with the Wilk family and features their gorgeous newborn lifestyle session with baby Amelia. It was so special visiting the Wilk’s for a second time and being able to document the family’s transition from three to four! Olivia was a very proud big sister and did a great job when posing for cuddle shots. We managed to get lots of relaxed photos of the whole family and even accidentally caught Amelia posing as a mini rocker!! See below for evidence! I hope it makes you smile as much as it did me!! Thank you to Su and Adam for choosing me to photograph these two very special family events. To see more of my work with new arrivals take a look at my portfolio and don’t hesitate to ask for more details on my ‘bump to baby’ packages.
Today’s family portraits session is the first of two special shoots with the Wilk family that I will be sharing over the next few days. Both are fab examples of how photographing your family in the home can be a great opportunity to capture lots of lovely natural moments. It was a total pleasure to work with expectant mum Su, Adam and the gorgeous Olivia. Four year old Olivia was really relaxed in her home and soon lost any shyness around the camera. My favourite moment from the shoot has to be Olivia playing doctors with the bump – how cute is that concentration face!! We also had a great time with the bubbles- I really love action shots! I’m really excited to be sharing part two tomorrow- keep tuned to meet the very cute baby Amelia! This family photography session was a total delight! Absolutely loved Claire’s local location choice of Grappenhall Walled Gardens. It had loads of exciting paths and hiding places for the girls to explore and even a little tea room too. I had great fun capturing Ruby and Eve scramble up trees and new addition Zander was really adorable too, not a peep throughout! Thank you Claire and Marek for a fantastic afternoon! To see more from my lifestyle work take a look at my ‘Family Portfolio‘ and don’t hesitate to drop me a message in the contact section to chat about your ideas. I always love to explore new locations!
I really enjoyed meeting this gorgeous little man in our new born photography session a few weeks ago. Baby Fionnbarra was just four weeks old here and still in that adorable sleepy and super cuddly stage. I loved Dee and Jamie’s idea to capture Fionn having a bath- how cute are those little arms! Capturing images in the home environment is always ideal for new arrivals as it takes away all the stress of getting out the house and means that I can photograph all those really relaxed natural moments. Thank you Dee, Jamie and Fionn for a wonderful morning!
This family photography session was super fun in a number of ways! Firstly, lets just say that the weather was more than a little challenging! I absolutely loved the fact that Cheryl and the family didn’t let it put them off one bit. If anything I think the gale force winds and sheets of rain added to the excitement!? (Well maybe for the first half hour anyway!!) This family shoot actually involved three families coming together for a secret pre Christmas shoot with the images being delivered to Grandma on the big day, what a great idea. Formby beach is always such a fab location for photography and particularly enjoyable for families. This occasion was no exception with all four children having great fun exploring and then allowing me to capture all those gorgeous natural moments. It was all finished off with ice creams for the kids, as you do in November! Love it! I can’t deny that we were all rather pleased to let our hands and toes defrost after but I absolutely love the results from our session, so full of smiles and energy. Thanks for a great afternoon all!
